Happy New Year!
Thought I'd share photos of the cats with this year's Christmas presents. Having still got last Christmas's mad tinsel mice kicking about the place, I went for something more restful this time.
These are cat pillows from the Cats' Protection League. Tasteful fake-fur oblongs filled with catnip.
It said on the label that they may induce vigorous play. What they actually induced was vigorous washing!
And then vigorous sleep.
So here's wishing everyone a nice, peaceful 2009.

Happy New Year Jan.
They look so happy and content! I wonder if my lot have killed each other?
Totally lacking in entertainment value, though!
Didn't give the cats presents this year but Dylan, the blind geriatric one, left a large damp patch on our bed as a present for us! And Fat 'Ed donated a fur ball on the kitchen table. Lovely.
What lovely photos.
All the best for 2009.
You see, Nicky - that's why you love them!
Thanks, Suzanne - all the best to you too.
Happy new year, Jan. And lovely pics.
Vigorous sleeping sounds good to me. What I'm just off to do...
Cat nip pillows, hmm -they do look very contented and - er - sleepy. I'm afraid my lot got the real stuff. Hard drugs in the shape of dried catnip leaves. It was the first time The Floozie had ever encountered catnip in any form . Cat Wars ensued. Definitely more active and lots of entertainment value! They ate the stuff, rolled in it, fought over it . . .
Now all I have to do is hoover up the remains ... (Of catnip, I assure you - not the remains of the cats!)
Happy New Year Jan! And Happy New Year to Merlin and Archer from Sid Dylan and of course The Floozie.
Kate
Lovely. I think washing and sleeping are very valuable gifts.
Happy new year!
Happy New Year, Jan. Love the cats!
That's so sweet! They look incredibly happy. I wonder if they do a doggy version?
Happy New Year :o)
Just gorgeous photos!!! i love them!
Washing and sleeping? Those are things Tiggers like best. (Okay, not Tiggers, but they're both stripy, no?) They look pretty happy with the arrangement.
My cats go for long periods of completely ignoring catnip, and then very occasionally go mental over it. Their Christmas present was an electronic aquarium: blame my mother entirely for that one (can we say substitute grandchildren? I think we can!).
Vigorous sleeping - those were the days, Kate H...
Thanks, Kate W - ooh, I wish I'd seen Flora and catnip!
HNY, Julie. Washing and sleeping is what they do best!
HNY, Liz and Karen.
Thanks, Mummy. They really are that cute.
An electronic aquarium, K8??? With eels in, perhaps? Or Rays?
Jan - your wish is my command - see my blog!
I've been! I've looked! So CUTE!
What lovely fat cats!
